Title: Hypoplastic constitutive model for unsaturated soil and debris materials

Objective: Develop advanced constitutive model for debris materials

Methodology: Debris materials involve solid particles and interstitial fluid. A hypoplastic constitutive model will be developed covering the solid-like and fluid-like behaviour and considering the major factors like plasticity, density, dilatancy and viscosity. Some concepts developed in Task 1.1 will be incorporated. The model parameters shall be identified with routine laboratory tests. The constitutive model will be validated by simulating some simple model tests, e.g. channel flow. The constitutive model will be made available to WP2 and WP3.
